APOLDA  EUROPEAN DESIGN AWARD  2005

2005 will see the fifth Apolda European Design Award in Apolda. Since its start in 1993, it has become a springboard for talented fashion designers and today it features among the most acclaimed fashion design competitions. The competition is an initiative organised by the Apolda region in Weimarer Land/ Thuringia. This area is the recognised centre of the German knitwear branch and is well anchored in the European fashion industry.
The time-honoured tradition of the sector looks set to be successfully continued in the future.
In 2002 the project was exclusively aimed at well known European fashion colleges and their undergraduates. As a result of this clear focus, the Apolda European Design Award has developed into something of a talent scout for European up-and-coming fashion talent. A fixed component of the competition is the forum Apolda Designer Exchange, which is committed to the support and improvement of communication between young fashion designers and companies in the fashion industry.
This successful concept will be continued in 2005 in connection with selected fashion colleges from Europe.
